SMGFan.com was started by Lawless and went online on February 28th, 1996. By June 1996, it consisted of 3 pages, averaged 3 hits a week, and the entire site was about 100 Kb. It grew tremendously from then. On November 2001, the site changed hands (GF and JPM). The site grew to over 500 individual pages, averaged 300,000+ hits a day, and took up over 1 gigabyte of space. It was also listed in the top 6000 visited web sites by Yahoo,  received over 5000 daily visitors and served over 2 million impressions a month. SMGFAN.com received several mentions in the media in 2002. These include TVGuide Online, E! Revealed with Jules Asner, Zap2it, Seventeen etc. After going on hiatus in February 2008, the site changed hands again (E and L) and reopened in September 2009.
