I'm so happy. On Friday, March 21 after many Buffy location visits I was rewarded with some of Sarah’s time and attention. Usually she is so busy while at work and I’m sure she still was on Friday, but found it in her heart to let us come over to chat & take pictures with her. I had met her previously in November of last year, but had only stopped for a few minutes to give her a portrait I did of a collage of photos of her wedding. I had seen her on many occasions besides that, but my friends and I, one being bdbdb (Jen) who occasionally posts on this board, go to the locations as often as possible. The crew knows us and so does the cast, including Sarah who seems to be amused with our enthusiasm and loyalty.

On to our special moment… let me just start with this, Sarah is so sweet and funny and animated! She was waiting for us and smiling so big as we walked over. I brought her some candy and she was really excited about that. She looked absolutely gorgeous, but do I even have to say that? Of course she did. It is very hard to come up with coherent sentences while she is standing there. With her watching you with those inquisitive eyes & listening intently at what you have to say. I don’t recall all the details of our conversation, but she loved the candy, she was happy to pose for photos with us (Jen and I) both separately and together, and happily signed autographs for us both and one for the Niblet (my sister Allie).

All these guys from the crew were hanging around her and they hinted at getting some of the candy from the special thing I bought her. She indicated that she might share, but not the chocolate covered gummy bears. LOL She made some comment about the candy going go right to her stomach and that by the end of the night she was going to pop off the bottom button on her blouse. That crazy girl. Then, I gave her my drawings. A small one of her and Freddie first, then a medium sized one from the wedding... the one from the cover of Hello from the wedding. Her “Wow’s” kept escalating and getting more emphasized. She really liked them and I am proud of that. She kept handing the stuff to someone, but I didn’t pay attention to who it was. LOL Whenever I handed her something I went for something else on the ground with all of my stuff...so I wasn’t looking at where everything went. I asked if I could get both digital and still photos and she said of course. We posed for the digital first, that's why I'm holding my other camera. Then she said, "take another one...to make sure..." Then she said let's take a couple of the three of us. She also took a couple with Jen. She had promised she would take a picture with me back in November and she made good on that promise and then some.

Ok so then autographs, I asked and she said yes, I went rifling through my stuff while she was standing there waiting. I found the pic I decided on (one from the Scooby premiere) and I held my drawing pad so she had something to write on. She wrote "Janna- Thanks for being a great fan. You have an amazing talent, Sarah Michelle". Then Jen, had a picture signed too and that gave me time to get one out for Allie, because I told Sarah that Allie would kill me if I didn’t and what kind of sister would I be if I didn’t get her one. Smiling, she said “you’re a good sister.”

I said something about how she may have noticed that my gift was movie related (the candy was a popcorn cup with candy and microwave popcorn bags popping out of it) and that I'm looking forward to her movie career and that I know she'll do great work. She said thank you and smiled and Jen asked her if she was sad or excited about the show ending and she said a little bit of both. She asked me what I'm doing with my art and did I go to art school? I said to junior college and got my AA, but want to work in TV. She nodded and said how good I am at the artwork... then she had to go, we said thank you and she waved bye and I collected my stuff. Oh she said that we shouldn't stay too late because what they are doing isn't that important or something like that. LOL Right Sarah. Doesn’t she realize that we consider whatever they are doing to be of the utmost importance?

Joss was there too, and James, Nick, and Michelle. All of Sarah’s scenes were by herself. So was James’ scene. Nick and Michelle had a scene together. When they cover the house they shoot everything they can there for any upcoming episodes. Four directors were there for 19, 20, 21, & 22. I think I took pics with her in the outfit she is wearing in 22 because that is what she was wearing in the scene directed by Joss. They were doing this scene on the front steps with her just standing there leaning on the post and then Joss would come in and tell her things and step back and start again. Whenever they would stop she would look directly at the camera and make faces, tilting her head, and making big eyes or closing her lips tight and making a pained face or making scary smiling faces, and I was laughing along with all of the other fans watching and she looked at us and smiled. As she left to go back to her trailer she smiled and waved at everyone there on the street.

I can't possibly describe how cute she is in person, there are no words.

If you read this Sarah, thank you so much for everything you did for me personally and for giving us Buffy, you are very special to all of us.
