(Los Angeles THE GRUDGE Premiere - Oct. 12, 2004)

About 3 hours ago I stepped off a plane from LA to Houston & wanted to share my Sarah [THE GRUDGE] Premiere story.

So I went to the premiere and took my mother with me. We arrived way too early (around 10am) but that was okay since it gave us time to relax after a hectic weekend. They already had signs for The Grudge up on the theater marquee when we got there. There were a few fans that started off early too (some Sarah & Jason fans) but the main bulk started to arrive after 1 pm. The organizers began to set up for the premiere around 12:30-1pm’ish...laying out the red carpet, putting up those Grudge signs & roping off/barricading areas for the press. We ended up lining up outside a coffee shop to go into their fan area...around 4:30-5pm they let us in the area. My mom went to one corner while I was in another...but not far from each other. We were very close to the theater so it was a good spot but unfortunately the Print Press was directly in front of us for our view of the red carpet. But if you stood on the barricade railing, we could get a somewhat better view. I don’t remember what time it was when the stars started to arrive & which ones came first...some of this is all blur. LOL Anyway Kadee came on to our side of the red carpet... it was hard to see her thru the press but from the quick glimpses of her, you could tell how beautiful she is. When she got closer to the fan area some fans started yelling for her to go thru the barrier & she did. Unfortunately she didn’t make it to our corner even though we were very close to where she went…but my mom saw her up close. The same thing happened with Michelle T., Seth, Rosa Blasi, Sam Raimi, Ted Raimi and a Japanese actor that I can’t remember his name. My mom ended up getting Seth’s autograph...hopefully some good pics too.

Here comes the good part.....

It was getting pretty late so some of us were starting to worry that Sarah wouldn’t have time to reach our fan section...But faith was kept. When Sarah arrived out front on the other side of the theater, she might have went to a fan section over there before doing the front press line. She eventually came on our side of the theater & the fans/press went crazy. I have never in my life been so floored as when I saw her thru all the photographers. Still can picture it clearly in my head when a few reporters parted and there she was! Think I said Holy Cow continuously for a little while there LOL Sarah is just phenomenally gorgeous even from a distance. Then she came over to our fan section! Right to us Up close and personal Sarah is even better! She’s gorgeous and that doesn’t really do her justice. It was chaotic with people pushing us into the barrier, I’m surprised we didn’t topple. Here I was fumbling with a camera (that was running out of film!), trying to get Sarah to sign a picture (which I got ) & all the while actually watching her. Did I mention how gorgeous she is already cause I have to say it again And she was wonderful with the fans...signing autographs & very sweet, just a gracious lady. Then the whirlwind ended and Sarah was gone. It was such an unbelievable moment...one that I’ll never forget. After that I was feeling a jumble of emotions...it is hard to describe...I mean Sarah was there at arms length!

So after Sarah left in no time Jason came over right to our section He was fabulous with his fans and he’s extremely handsome! To bad by that time I ran out of film...3 cameras & I was the one with the least amount of pictures left! Figures. Anyway he left to go inside. At that point I said goodbye to some very wonderful and lovely Sarah fans that I met. Got my mom away from her section & we went to dinner across the street. Sat outside and watched the crew dismantle the premiere setup. While we were eating, Kadee & Michelle left. After dinner my mom & I headed over to where we were before & joined a small group of fans waiting for the premiere to let out. Eventually Sarah came out but she didn’t stop for autographs...still it was an absolute pleasure to see her sail by us. Then Jason came out & stopped for autographs/pictures for his fans. Also Sam & Ted Raimi came over too. Saw Seth again but he didn’t come over and at that point I was ready to go. It was a long day but one that was well worth any of the hassles that came about because of doing this quick trip to LA.

The whole rest of the night I was spouting out "I saw Sarah" like I was on a continuous loop. LOL So much so that my mom would finish my sentence before I did...but it was fun because she was very happy for me.

Seeing Sarah so close was such a magical experience (yes, corny phrase but don’t care one bit because it was).
