THE RETURN it is! If you're still wondering if Revolver has actually been renamed THE RETURN as earlier rumored, well wonder no more. We've received confirmation that this is indeed the case. As for a release date, it is currently scheduled for an early September 2006 opening. Let's hope that everything goes as planned especially since reshoots are currently being done.

Stephen Susco is hard at work on GRUDGE 2's script, which is still evolving. Although he can't share anything about SMG's return at this time, he indicated that the audience 'can look forward to MANY surprises!'

She's back! Sarah's Karen Davis will return to the sequel of THE GRUDGE. The movie's screenwriter, Stephen Susco, has confirmed this news. But whether or not Sarah will still be the lead is unknown. Sarah's new project, The Air I Breathe, is tentatively scheduled to begin filming on January 16, 2006. For the teaser poster and info on this film, visit the official NALA Films site. Also, the official site for the movie is now currently 'under construction'.

We're still getting e-mails asking about Happily N'Ever After. We've been informed that the release date could fall somewhere between mid 2006 and early 2007. As soon as we know more, we will post the info.

SMG finally snags her 'older man' ! Producers for her project, The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing, have announced that Alec Baldwin will be playing opposite Sarah in this romantic comedy. The announcement was made at the American Film Market in Santa Monica. Filming is now tentatively scheduled to begin in May 2006. Read article

Just a couple of short updates on two of Sarah's projects; Happily N'Ever After and Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey. Producers for Happily N'Ever After are now considering the best release dates for the film. This process is more complicated than simply looking at the calendar and picking from there. Discussions are held with the studios and merchandise partners, which all have to be in agreement. This, of course, is easier said than done. More info should be coming in the near future so check back here again.

As for Quantum Quest, we will be getting an exclusive look at new images of Sarah's character, Ranger, in the next couple of months. They will be posted as soon as we receive them.

One year ago today, THE GRUDGE opened in N. America. It debuted in the no. 1 spot in the weekend box office taking in an impressive $39.1 million. The movie continued to exceed industry expectations by holding the top spot for a second consecutive weekend. To date, it has made an estimated $190 million worldwide. THE GRUDGE is, undoubtedly, Sarah's most successful film project thus far. Take a walk down memory lane and watch footage from the film's premiere here.

Variety.com reports that Sarah is currently in talks to star in 'The Air I Breathe'. This indie film is scheduled to begin production in January 2006 in Mexico City. Companies involved are Nala Films and Paul Schiff Productions. From Variety.com:

Sarah was one of the celebrities who participated in the "SHELTER FROM THE STORM: A CONCERT FOR THE GULF COAST" held on Sept. 9th. She helped take viewer donations on the phones during the broadcast. To see the show in its entirety, visit the CBS official site. It's not too late to help, please consider donating to one of the Hurricane Katrina relief programs.

Southland Tales has 2 weeks left in its filming schedule. There are a few photos of Sarah on the set floating around. We will not be posting those on the site since they are considered 'pap pics', which go against our 'no papparazzi pictures rule'. Don't forget to check out the ST blog over at richard-kelly.net for updates on the film.

There is no confirmed shooting schedule for 'A Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing' yet. The project is still tentatively scheduled to begin production this month. If all goes as planned, Sarah could be working on this film in the fall.

We've received several e-mails asking if we have any news on Sarah's still untitled movie under Rogue Pictures (formerly known as Revolver). All we can say is that info will be released when the people behind the film feel it's time to do so. Be patient - good things come to those who wait...

According to the current issue of Publisher's Weekly, Sarah is apparently scouting around for book properties to buy in New York. Thanks to Molly May and Sanrevelle for the heads up. From PW:

In recent weeks there's been an unlikely visitor to some of the high-powered New York agencies. Sarah Michelle Gellar, of Buffy and The Grudge fame, is making the rounds. Does she have a book to sell? Amazingly, no. (Could she be the only celebrity who doesn't?) Instead, she's shopping, looking for book properties to buy or get attached to. Says one agent: "She wants to take a more active role in her career. She wants to work on something more highbrow." Could this be a new era of stars getting their hands dirty? Scouts, beware.

Southland Tales is still scheduled to start filming in a week. Details about this movie are being tightly guarded but there have been some small mentions in the news lately. Click here for some of the latest.

Sarah's untitled upcoming movie based on the book, A Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing, is slated to begin production in September. If all goes as planned, she will be going straight from Southland Tales to this project.

It's a little quiet these days in the Sarah news department. We figured she's enjoying her downtime with family and friends - she'll need the energy because the next several months will surely be hectic for her. Sarah is scheduled to start filming Southland Tales in August and if everything goes as planned, work on her other 'confirmed' projects will follow thereafter.

We've received a few e-mails asking why Sarah is no longer on the cast/credit list for the film, Happily N'Ever, over at IMBD.com. We don't know why her name seems to have been removed but she is still very much a part of this project. Her voice work was completed a long time ago and the project is now in the animation stage. Everything is progressing nicely and a release date is forthcoming.

Quint at Ain't It Cool News has posted his report from his visit to the set of Sarah's project currently referred to as 'Untitled Supernatural Thriller' aka formerly Revolver. He also mentions some Southland Tales titbits.

Sarah and her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., are helping organize and host the 4th Annual Vintage Hollywood Wine Tasting Event this Saturday, June 11th. The beneficiary of this charity function is Caring for Children and Families with AIDS. For more info on this organization and event, visit their official site.
